Yamaha India started the revamping process of its entire lineup this year by adding new colours to the YZF-R15 2.0 and now the company has added nine new colours to the 153cc FZ-16, FZ-S and Fazer models. Starting with the FZ-16, the model gets three new solid colour options which include Panther black, Ambush blue and Raider red. The Yamaha FZ-S on the other hand gets three new dual-tone shades which include Preying red, Hawk-Eye gold and Pouncing black added to the palette.
The quarter-faired Yamaha Fazer also gets three new solid colour options namely Ravine red, Terrain white and Wilderness black. The new colour updates should suffice as a makeshift for keeping the products fresh in the market for the next couple of months. Yamaha is all set to launch the all-new FZ model with significant updates to the design, styling as well as the engine. All the current models are powered by a 153cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 14 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 13.6 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, which is paired to 5-speed gearbox.
The new FZ concept was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in February and the model has been spotted testing at a number of occasions across the country. Online reports have been speculating of a bigger bore that will take up the power of the engine to 17 PS, while the styling is more evolutionary than the current version and resembles the one seen on the concept. The new FZ will compete against the Bajaj Pulsar 150, Honda CB Trigger and the upcoming Suzuki Gixxer in the segment and would see a launch later this year.
