Tata Hexa has got a good response from the Indian market and its AT transmission has certainly lived up to the hype as it accounts for more than 60% of the bookings.
The country’s one of the largest automakers Tata Motors launched the Hexa on 18th that has a starting price of Rs. 11.99 lakhs and their top model goes upto Rs. 17.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Hexa currently is showing some good response as it has a waiting period of up to two months. The Hexa is the third car in this segment to offer automatic transmission after the Mahindra XUV500 and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
Tata Motors confirmed that more than 60% of their bookings have been made for the automatic transmission version of the car. The automatic gearbox gets sports and race modes. The engine used here is a 2.2-litre Varicor 400 diesel engine that produces 156 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque.
Tata motors also said that the Hexa was only the first of many launches that they are planning in the coming future. Tata motors is planning to do so in order to revive its share in the utility vehicle segment since the Safari Storme isn’t doing well currently compared to its rivals. The upcoming cars from Tata include Kite 5 compact sedan and the Nexon compact SUV.
