2025 Toyota Camry revealed with latest design direction, India launch likely in 2024
2025 Toyota Camry revealed, ninth generation model but based on the same TNGA-K platform. Since the platform is the same we cannot say it is an all-new model but yes a big updated over the predecessor.
The design of the new generation Camry is undoubtedly Toyota and now with the new design direction, it looks more like a Lexus with the sharp styling elements. The front profile gets a sharp headlight cluster, sporty bumper with new grille detailing, shiny new diamond cut alloy wheel design and sleek rear profile with Lexus ES inspired tail. It comes with two new colours – Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal.
The interior of the new gen Toyota Camry now looks more European with the new dashboard design. It has some straight lines and a layered setup unlike the outgoing version’s busy dash with curvy centre console. It comes with a premium looking new steering wheel design, 12.3-inch dual screen setup for the digital cluster and the infotainment system.
It is powered by the popular 2.5-litre petrol hybrid engine which produces a combined power output of 225 HP. In the AWD variant, there is an additional motor generator that produces a combined output of 232 HP. Both the powertrains are mated to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT). Toyota has not revealed more figures of the hybrid motor and the capacity of the lithium ion battery pack is not disclosed yet.
Toyota has discontinued the performance oriented V6 engine from the Camry lineup. The Japanese carmaker claims they’re moving to all hybrid and the new engine has been retuned for performance driving feel.
While the platform remains unchanged, Toyota has reworked the suspension with revised tuning and new shock absorbers. They claim it is more responsive and offers agile handling.
We expect Toyota to launch the new generation Camry in India sometime next year. What are your thoughts on the new design? Let us know in the comments below.
