MG Comet EV 2025

2025 MG Comet EV launched with new features and faster charging

JSW MG Motor India has launched the 2025 iteration of its compact electric vehicle, the Comet EV, with a starting price of Rs. 4.99 lakhs (excluding the battery pack). The battery is available separately on a subscription basis, costing Rs. 2.5 per km.

New Features Across Variants

The latest Comet EV comes with notable upgrades across its five available variants—Executive, Excite, Excite Fast Charge, Exclusive and Exclusive Fast Charge. The mid-tier Excite and Excite Fast Charge trims now feature a rearview camera and power-folding ORVMs, enhancing convenience and visibility. Meanwhile, the higher-end Exclusive and Exclusive Fast Charge variants have been updated with a 4-speaker sound system for an improved in-cabin audio experience.

Performance and Range

Mechanically, the Comet EV retains its rear-mounted electric motor, producing 42 BHP and 110 Nm of torque. The vehicle continues to use a 17.3 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 230 km on a full charge (as per MIDC testing).

Charging options vary depending on the variant. The standard model comes equipped with a 3.3 kW AC charger, whereas the Excite and Exclusive trims benefit from a faster 7.4 kW AC charger. With this enhanced charging capability, the battery can be replenished from 0 to 100% in approximately 3.5 hours.

Blackstorm Edition for a Sportier Look

For those seeking a more distinctive design, MG has introduced the Blackstorm edition of the Comet EV. This variant features a ‘Starry Black’ exterior complemented by dark chrome accents, while the interior adopts an all-black theme, adding a sportier appeal.

With its compact dimensions, practical urban range, and feature additions, the 2025 MG Comet EV aims to strengthen its position in India’s growing electric vehicle market.
