Maruti Suzuki Eeco Refreshed, Gets 6 Airbags, Captain Seat Layout, & Fabric Upholstery
Maruti Suzuki Eeco has been refreshed for the 2025 model year. The refresh includes the introduction of 6 airbags and Captain seats. The latter reduces the seating capacity from 7 to 6 occupants. Let’s take a closer look at the refreshed MPV.
Safety Equipment Changes
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco came with 2 airbags previously. However, it now gets the 6 airbags like the Alto K10, Brezza, etc. This shows the brand’s commitment towards delivering a safer experience. Additionally, the Eeco comes with three-point seatbelts for all passengers.
The front seats also get pre-tensioners and force limiters. The standard safety equipment includes ABS and EBD, ESP and seatbelt reminders for front seats.
Design Changes
It is important to note that this is a model refresh and not a facelift, hence, there are no cosmetic changes made to the Eeco. The practical MPV retains the circular rectangular halogen headlights, vertically-oriented tail-lights, and 13-inch steel rims without cover.
Interior Changes
It is a similar story on the inside as well, as can be observed with the design and a single-spoke steering wheel carried over from the outgoing model. However, changes are made to the trim on the pillars and the roof liner to accommodate the new airbags.
The Eeco features fabric seat upholstery, which is an upgrade over the previous PVC upholstery and outboard reclining front seats. The 5-seater version also gets luggage retention, restricting passenger movement during the collision and creating a safer experience.
Engine
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 80 HP. A notable highlight for 2025 is that it supports E20 fuel in compliance with the latest government norms. There is also the 70 HP CNG variant for the 5-seater version only. The 6-seater version is only available with the petrol engine.
Pricing
The refreshed Eeco is more expensive than before. The price hike is by Rs. 25,000 across the lineup. The base 5-seater version costs Rs. 5.69 Lakh (ex-showroom) and the range-topping 5-seater version with AC and CNG costs Rs. 6.95 Lakh (ex-showroom). The 6-seater Eeco costs Rs. 5.98 Lakh (ex-showroom).
Outlook
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco has received a comprehensive refresh for 2025, which makes it safer than before and the 6-seater Eeco is currently the most affordable car with captain seats.
