Hyundai begins testing the next-gen Venue in India, set to launch with design upgrades
Hyundai Motor India has commenced testing the next-generation Venue on Indian roads. While the compact SUV has been undergoing trials overseas for some time, this marks its debut test phase in the country. The much-anticipated next-gen Venue is expected to hit the Indian market by October 2025, aligning with the festive season.
What’s New in the Next-Gen Hyundai Venue?
The upcoming Venue is set to retain its signature boxy silhouette while incorporating subtle yet significant design updates. Spy shots reveal a slightly more upright stance, a revamped front grille, and redesigned headlights—elements that draw inspiration from Hyundai’s Creta and Alcazar models. The tail-lamps are also expected to sport a new design, adding a modern touch to the SUV’s rear profile.
On the international front, test mules of the next-gen Venue showcase a completely redesigned fascia, suggesting Hyundai’s intent to give the SUV a fresh visual appeal.
Upgraded Interiors and Features
The interior of the new Venue is slated for a major overhaul. A redesigned dashboard is expected to feature prominently, accompanied by additional creature comforts. Hyundai is reportedly considering features like ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera—amenities that are increasingly standard in this segment.
These updates aim to enhance the Venue’s competitiveness in the compact SUV market, particularly as rivals continue to pack their offerings with cutting-edge technology and convenience features.
Powertrain: No Major Changes Under the Hood
Mechanically, the next-gen Venue is expected to remain unchanged. It will likely retain the current model’s powertrain options, including the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.
Production and Market Context
The current generation Venue has been in the market since 2019 and received a facelift in 2022. Hyundai’s typical six-year lifecycle for its models makes the October 2025 launch of the next-gen Venue a logical progression. Mass production for the new iteration is expected to commence this year at Hyundai’s Talegaon facility in Maharashtra.
