2024 Tata Nexon spotted testing again
2024 Tata Nexon continues testing with heavy camouflage. MotorBeamer Priyansh Gupta has spotted this test mule near Panchgani, Maharashtra.
Design
While the prototype is covered in heavy camouflage, we can make out some styling details that looks inspired by the Tata Curvv concept showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo.
The front profile will get split LED DRLs and headlight setup which is the new trend in the industry. It will get a sporty looking bumper and grille design as we have seen on the Curvv. The side profile looks similar to the current version on sale. However, there will be new alloy wheels on offer in the new Nexon.
The rear camouflage is smartly styled to look like the tail lights of the current model. However, it gets sleek tail light cluster that looks completely different. There is a new unique feature on the rear profile – hidden roof-mounted rear wiper.
Interior
The new Tata Nexon will get a completely revamped interior. There is a newly designed dashboard which again looks inspired by the Curvv concept. The large touchscreen infotainment system has been given a floating profile.
The biggest change here is the new two-spoke steering wheel which looks very similar to the one seen on the concept version. It will get all the media and cruise control buttons mounted on either side. We hope the Tata logo is illuminated to give it a unique look.
Features
We can hope for a long list of features in the new Nexon. It is expected to come with all-digital high res instrument cluster, larger touchscreen with new UI, panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, wireless phone charger, auto headlight, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, premium audio system, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, etc.
In terms of safety, we believe Tata Motors will offer ADAS in the new Nexon along with 6 airbags as standard, ABS, EBD, hill hold assist, hill descent control, TCS, etc.
Engine
Tata Motors will be offering a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine option with the new Nexon. It will come with both 6-speed manual transmission and a new dual-clutch automatic transmission. There are reports that it will continue to get the 1.5-litre diesel engine option. The Indian carmaker is also expected to introduce CNG option with the Nexon and we can see the same dual-cylinder tech like we have seen recently on the Altroz i-CNG.
Price
The 2024 Tata Nexon will get an aggressive price tag at the time of the launch with an introductory offer. It might be introduced at a similar or slightly higher price point but once the introductory offer is over, the price difference between the current model and sale and the new version is likely to be around Rs. 1 lakh premium. The new Nexon is expected to be announced this Diwali season.
