2024 Suzuki Swift concept previews the new gen Swift with new design and features
2024 Suzuki Swift concept revealed ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. The new generation hatchback will be showcased in its near-production avatar. The Japanese carmaker will introduce the new gen Swift in the international market sometime next year. Hopefully Maruti Suzuki is quick to launch the new model early in India.
In terms of design, the new generation Swift looks like a subtle evolution over its predecessor. The overall design is the same but the styling details are quite different. It comes with a new clamshell bonnet, sharper headlights with new LED DRL setup, new grille design and revised bumper with projector fog lights.
The new hatchback features 5-spoke diamond cut alloy wheels. The door handles are back to normal position for the rear doors. The current version on sale has flap type handles on the c-pillar. The tail lamps are new with a squared design and revised light details and the bumper has a dual tone styling.
Interior of the new gen Swift concept looks very similar to the current range of Suzuki cars on offer. It has the same flat-bottom steering wheel on offer, new floating touchscreen infotainment system which looks bigger in size and a layered dashboard with multiple colour tones of black and grey.
Suzuki will be offering safety features like Dual Sensor Brake Support, Collision Mitigating Braking, Adaptive High Beam System and Driver Monitoring System with the new gen Swift.
We hope Maruti offers some of these new safety features in India as well. Engine options have not been confirmed officially yet. We expect Maruti Suzuki to offer the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine. We can expect the 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo petrol as well.
There are some speculations about a new strong hybrid petrol engine that will be offered with the new generation Swift, developed in collaboration with Toyota. It is expected to return fuel efficiency upwards of 35 km/l. The same engine is also expected to be offered with the Dzire.
