2024 Isuzu MU-X gets sharper styling with this facelift, new RS variant looks sporty
2024 Isuzu MU-X revealed, mid-cycle update to make the SUV look fresh. The Japanese carmaker has not introduced the new generation MU-X in the Indian market yet. Meanwhile, the international market has already got a facelift of the new generation model.
The SUV now looks sportier with sharper design elements and also gets a new RS variant to get a more aggressive appearance. The front profile gets a huge blacked out grille with busy detailing and an RS badge for the sporty trim. It gets a new set of headlights with rearranged LED DRLs. The bumpers have been revised with a sharper look. The alloy wheels have been updated with the latest design language and the rear gets a meaner looking set of tail lights.
Isuzu is offering an all-black interior with the RS trim that gets red ambient lighting on the dashboard and on the door panels. There is contrast stitching on the upholstery and RS badging on the headrests to announce that this is a sporty trim of the MU-X lineup. The regular variant gets beige and brown interior treatment.
There is a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with an updated 9-inch all-digital instrument cluster. It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay now. The ADAS has been updated with features like lane keeping assist, traffic jam assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and rear-cross traffic brake. There is a new surround view monitor on the central display, you can monitor the vehicle’s floor when off-roading.
The updated SUV is powered by the same diesel engine options. One is a 1.9-litre diesel engine producing 150 PS, while the other is a 3.0-litre diesel producing 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque. The engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission option. It also gets 4×4 system on the range topping RS model. There is no manual transmission on offer.
The 7-seater SUV competes with the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in the Thailand market. We hope Isuzu brings the new gen MU-X to India to get some attention from the Indian buyers.
