2024 Audi Q7 spotted, it isn’t a new generation model
2024 Audi Q7 spotted testing with minimal camouflage. Why isn’t it completely covered in camouflage you ask? Well, this isn’t the new generation model, it will be a second facelift for the luxury SUV.
The second generation Audi Q7 will get an extended lease of life with this update as a stop-gap measure for the fully-electric new generation Q7 replacement. However, the prototype reveals some considerable new visual tweaks to make it look fresh.
Unlike the other German luxury car brands like Mercedes and BMW that updated their flagship SUVs to new gen models, Audi has retained this generation of Q7 for a long while. Even Volvo has stretched the current generation XC90’s life.
The front profile in these spy shots reveals a new grille design, which seems to get a completely new pattern. The headlights look similar in size but come with revised detailing and placement of LED DRLs. The bumper looks updated as well.
There will be no changes on the side profile except for the new alloy wheel design. While this is a prototype, you can expect larger, more premium looking alloys from Audi for the new Q7. The rear section too looks the same, might get revised lights and bumper.
To match the tech-laden new generation luxury SUVs, Audi is expected to throw in some comprehensive updates for the interior including large screens for the infotainment and digital cluster. The upholstery and colour combinations will be new. There will be a long list of new features on offer to make it more competitive in the segment.
Audi will be offering multiple diesel and petrol engine options with the new Q7 in the international markets. There will be an updated plug-in hybrid option as well with a claimed range of up to 100 km with electric-only mode. The diesel and petrol engines will come with 48V mild-hybrid technology. The Indian market will get only petrol engine options. Global debut is expected by early 2024.
