Yamaha might launch the all-new FZ 15 as the 2023 model in India, features projector headlamp
Yamaha has launched the facelifted version of the FZ 15 as the 2023 model in the Brazilian market for a price tag starting from 16,990 Brazilian Real (Rs. 2.68 lakhs). The all-new model might be launched in India soon.
From the first look, we can notice the new projector headlight resembling the FZ25. The front visor looks new and the rear tyre hugger has been given the miss. Rest all aspects look the same as the FZ-S FI sold here. Even the RVMs and the indicators look the same.
But, there are some mechanical changes. The overall length has been increased by 10 mm mostly due to the new headlight setup. The bike gets premium Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres at the front and back. The ground clearance is up by 5 mm.
The fuel tank capacity is down to 11.9 litres from 13 litres. While Yamaha has retained the same 149 cc fuel injected engine, the output is even lesser now. However, the engine runs on both petrol and ethanol.
In the petrol mode, though the power output remains the same 12.2 HP, it comes a little late at 7500 RPM, up from 7250 RPM. The torque is down to just 12.7 Nm from 13.3 Nm and also comes late at 6000 RPM, up from 5500 RPM.
While the cluster nearly looks the same, the tell-tale lights are placed differently. The bike is available in 3 new colours – Racing Blue, Midnight Black, and Magma Red. There are new graphics for a fresh look.
When launched in India, expect Yamaha to charge a premium for the projector setup. But, the company, most likely, won’t give the lovely Pirelli tyres. Given the kind of craze FZ has here, this new model should sell like hot cakes.
