2023 Toyota Prius gets a new design direction
2023 Toyota Prius revealed in its new generation avatar. Gets a completely new design with sporty styling along with updated hybrid engine options.
The Prius has always been known for its quirky styling with a love it or hate it design. The Japanese carmaker has reworked the exterior and interior completely to give it a new lease of life.
The front profile looks sharp with a sleek set of headlights and a sloping nose. The side profile gets simple yet sporty design with some curves that make it look youthful. The coupe-like silhouette is intact but gets a more confident appeal here.
The rear design gets a sloping roof merging with the boot which is finished in glass. There is a slim bar of tail lights. Overall it looks much better than all the 4 previous generations in our opinion.
The interior too gets a new design, the dashboard looks more European now. There is a minimalistic approach in the cabin. It comes with a floating touchscreen infotainment system that measures 12.23-inch in size. The digital instrument cluster looks floating as well. The new steering wheel looks chunky and is loaded with controls.
It comes with two hybrid engine options. One is the 2.0-litre Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine paired to an electric motor that delivers a combined output of 220 HP. The other one is a 1.8-litre unit that produces 193 HP of combined power output.
The new generation Prius is unlikely to launch in India anytime soon. However, Toyota India should consider bringing the car to the country via CBU as hybrid cars are getting quite popular here.
