Maruti Suzuki will launch the all-new Brezza on 30th June, gets a new metallic green shade, 3 colours confirmed
Maruti Suzuki will launch the much-awaited 2023 second generation Brezza on 30th June. The compact SUV has already started reaching dealerships and will be up for showcase and test drives in the next few days.
Select dealerships have also commenced offline bookings for the upcoming SUV. Brezza is expected to command a crazy waiting period spanning months post launch as it’s the first generation change for the SUV and 1 of the biggest launches from Maruti Suzuki this year.
The compact SUV might also regain its lost ground to Tata Nexon and widen the gap further with the Hyundai Venue. The car has shed its ‘Vitara’ name and now just called ‘Brezza’. It not only looks proportionate like a proper SUV but also has interesting design elements.
At the front, there’s a chunky graphite black strip with the Suzuki logo embedded at the centre. The trapezoidal matte black bottom grille is split by the bumper element which houses the front number plate. The car looks like an EV with minimal grille elements.
The twin-pod LED headlamps and drls are latest additions and look striking. They gel well with the graphite coloured strip that also houses 2 chrome inserts on top. The square fog lamps, however, look tiny and disproportionate.
The front skid plates are, again, chunky and get the usual brushed silver finish. The matte black rugged body cladding has been carried forward from the existing car but it has been unnecessarily made broad. Hope it looks good in flesh though.
The SUV gets a dual-tone finish with black pillars and body-coloured floating roof. At the rear, the LED tail lamps look sleek and refreshing. The rear looks inspired from the Range Rovers, especially in the red shade.
The word ‘Brezza’ is written in bold to make people forget the ‘Vitara’ name altogether. The number plate holder is prominently fixed on the tail gate under a recess.
From the pictures surfaced so far, we can confirm 3 metallic colours – white, red, and green. The green shade is first for the SUV which currently has 9 different colour options including dual-tone ones.
The cabin is expected to be completely overhauled. Maruti Suzuki is likely to provide a new floating touchscreen infotainment, a new instrument cluster, sunroof, paddle shifters, connected car technology, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6 airbags, TPMS, and a 360-degree camera.
The company might install the updated 1.5-litre K15 engine borrowed from the new Ertiga and XL6. In its current form, the mild-hybrid mill puts out 102 HP and 137 Nm. There would be an option to choose either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The upcoming Brezza would command a premium over the existing Vitara Brezza. It will compete against the likes of the Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Kia Sonet.
