Kia India have just unveiled the 2023 Seltos facelift. The vehicle was Kia’s first launch in India way back in 2019 and it became a runaway success thanks to its design, features, engines and the overall positioning which the automaker got right.
What’s new on the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift you may ask. The vehicle now gets a revised grille, redesigned headlamps & tail lights, new wheels and some minor enhancements here and there. The changes aren’t very major though.
On the inside, the layout remains the same as before. The Seltos does get a new digital instrument cluster. The lower and mid variants share the instrument cluster with the Carens and Venue while the higher variants get a better display. The vehicle also gets 17 ADAS features now.
The design of the centre console has been tweaked a little and the AC controls also have a mildly new design. The vehicle now gets dual-zone climate control. It has other features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, keyless go, auto-headlamps, air purifier, Bose audio system with 8 speakers, etc.
In terms of mechanicals, Kia already said goodbye to the 1.4 turbo petrol engine a few months back. The Kia Seltos facelift gets 3 engine options – 1.5-litre NA making 115 PS of power, 1.5-litre turbo petrol making 160 PS and 1.5-litre diesel delivering 115 PS. The NA engine will get an MT or IVT, while the turbo petrol engine will be offered with an IMT or DCT. Meanwhile, the diesel engine will be offered with IMT and TC options.
In its pre-facelift avatar, the Seltos had scored a 3-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests. The vehicle does get 6 airbags as standard on every variant apart from other safety features like ABS with EBD, ESC, VSM, HSA, ISOFIX, etc.
The new Seltos gets three trim lines – X-Line, GT Line and Tech Line with 8 colours including 1 matte and 2 dual tone shades. Bookings for the vehicle will start on 14th July and the prices will also be announced at that time.
The Kia Seltos rivals the Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The upcoming Honda Elevate will also fall in the same segment.
