2023 Kawasaki Ninja 650 gets traction control system
2023 Kawasaki Ninja 650 launched in India, priced at Rs. 7.12 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is now Rs. 51,000/- more expensive than the outgoing model.
The bike remains unchanged in terms of looks and mechanicals but gets new features on offer. The most prominent update is the addition of KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control).
This traction control system is available with two modes – Mode 1 & Mode 2. The Mode 1 is least intrusive and more performance oriented. The Mode 2 intervenes earlier when excessive wheel spin is detected. It also reduces the engine output to allow regaining the grip. It is useful on wet pavement or bad stretches of road. The system can also be completely switched off.
The motorcycle is powered by the same 649cc parallel-twin engine that produces 68 HP at 8000 RPM and 64 Nm of torque at 6700 RPM. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
Other highlights of the motorcycle include twin LED headlamps, 4.3-inch TFT colour instrumentation, Smartphone connectivity via Rideology app, Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres, etc.
The updated bike will hit the showrooms soon. Bookings have commenced across all the authorised dealerships. Deliveries to start in a few days of time.
