2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400 will be launched soon in India, will make a return after almost 2-and-a-half years
Just a few days back, Kawasaki launched the 2023 Ninja 400 in the European markets and the now the manufacturer has teased the sport bike in India hinting a launch very soon.
With this, the second entry-level performance machine is about to make a grand return to India after almost 2-and-a-half years. The sport bike was discontinued in December 2019 in less than 2 years since launch owing to BS-6 norms kicking in.
The 2023 Ninja 400 is both Euro 5 and BS-6 compliant. It’s powered by the updated 399 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled DOHC 8-valve engine that exerts 44.8 HP at 10,000 RPM and 37 Nm at 8000 RPM mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The engine sits on a trellis frame with 41 mm telescopic forks upfront and gas-charged adjustable monoshock at the rear. The front wheel gets a 110/70 R17 tyre while the rear wheel features a 150/60 R17 unit.
Braking duties are carried out by petal disc with dual piston caliper – 310 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear. The bike’s ground clearance is 140 mm while the seat height is same as that of the Ninja 300 at 785 mm making the bike the apt choice for short riders.
Tipping the scales at 168 Kg, the upcoming Ninja 400 is lighter than the 2022 KTM RC 390 itself let alone the Ninja 300, TVS Apache RR 310, and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. The only bike that’s lighter than the upcoming Ninja is the Honda CB300R.
The fuel tank capacity is rated at 14 litres which is 3 litres lesser than that of the Ninja 300’s 17-litre tank. There are 2 colours on offer – Lime green / Ebony (KRT Edition) and Metallic Carbon Gray / Metallic Matte Carbon Gray.
The 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400 is expected to command an ex-showroom price of Rs. 4.5 – 5 lakhs.
