Benelli has launched the 2023 TRK 502X in India with a new shade, more updates in the making
Benelli has launched the 2023 TRK 502X in India with a new Sunlit Yellow shade. The range now starts at Rs. 5.94 lakhs (ex-showroom). While this is all for India as of now, Benelli is secretly working on a host of updates for the TRK. Let’s dive into them straight away.
The TRK range has a fan following not just in India but across the globe. It’s 1 of the most affordable big size tourers that you can buy in the world right now. Its large proportions not only offer huge road presence but also help tackle the terrains without much fuss.
The Chinese-owned Italian marque is currently in the process of launching the adventure bike with new features and updates. Sources said, the updated bike will first hit the Chinese market followed by others and India might be 1 of the first to get those features.
The new TRK that’s being developed gets an aluminum alloy swing arm in place of the steel tube unit. With this, Benelli has reportedly shaved off the bike’s weight by a good 3.6 kg. The control buttons have been updated with more quality and touch feel.
The biggest update, however, is the addition of a new colour TFT instrument cluster which provides a host additional data related to touring. For tackling extremely cold conditions, the adventure bike gets heated grips too.
For the first time, the bike gets a factory-fitted tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The spoke wheels have been redesigned in such a way even tubeless tires can be fitted now.
Other than these updates, the bike remains the same overall. It’s powered by the same 500 cc DOHC 8-valve parallel twin engine that exerts 47 HP and 46 Nm. The mill is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The engine sits on a Trestle steel tube frame with fat 50 mm USD forks upfront and preload adjust hydraulic mono-shock at the rear.
Braking duties are carried out by 320 mm double disk with floating 2-piston caliper at the front while the rear wheels are stopped by 260 mm single disc with single piston floating caliper. ABS comes standard.
The front wheel is a 19-inch unit with 110 section tyre while the rear wheel measures 17-inch with 150 section tyre. The ground clearance is a generous 220 mm. The adventure bike gets a large 20-litre fuel tank for long hauls.
These updates might hit our shores anytime soon as they are almost ready.
