For the price, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan comes in a single Elegance trim that is loaded with plentiful features
Volkswagen has introduced the 2022 Tiguan at a price of Rs. 31.99 lakhs (ex-showroom and introductory), today in India.
The refreshed premium SUV comes with crisp lines throughout, a new wider radiator grille with the new manufacturer’s emblem, new front and rear bumpers, pronounced shoulders and 18-inch ‘Frankfurt’ alloy wheels.
This 5-seat car also has silver anodised roof rails, LED matrix headlights, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, ORVMs with blinkers and chrome mouldings on the windows.
The car will be offered in colour choices such as Deep Black, Dolphin Grey, Kings Red, Nightshade Blue, Oryx White, Pure White and Reflex Silver.
Inside, the SUV features Vienna leather seats, heated front seats, 8-way electric seat adjustment for the driver, a multifunctional steering wheel, soft-touch dashboard and door trim, illuminated gear knob, touch and slide 3-zone air-con control panel, LED interior lights and ambient lighting.
The premium SUV comes loaded with features like a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (wired), gesture control, panoramic sunroof, illuminated scuff plates, USB C ports, keyless entry and go, handsfree tailgate operation, reversing camera and more.
Power comes from a 1984cc TSI motor delivering 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The motor’s power is sent to the 4-wheel drive system through a 7-speed DSG. The noted a fuel economy figure is 12.65 km/l for the Tiguan which has a 60-litre fuel tank and weighs 1703 kg.
There is also be a drive mode selector (on road, off-road, individual and snow) on board the car that has independent front and rear suspension and is fitted with 235/55-section rubber all-round.
As for safety, the model year 2022 Tiguan comes equipped with disc brakes at all corners, 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, driver alert system, ASR, EDL, EDTC, TPMS, auto-hold, hill start assist, hill descent control, park distance control and ISOFIX mounts.
The 2022 Tiguan comes with 4-year warranty, 4-year roadside assistance (extendable up to 10 years) and 3 free services. Customers can buy a 4-year service value pack for the car that start at Rs. 63,558/-, an extended warranty that starts at Rs. 31,499/-.
Customer deliveries of the car will begin by mid-January 2022. Starting 10th December, 2021 test drives will be offered in Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune, followed by other cities.
