Volkswagen has announced that it will unveil the 2022 Polo facelift through a virtual event on 22nd April 2021.
This is the midlife update that the sixth-generation model, which has not been launched in India, is set to receive.
According to Volkswagen, the design, technologies and specification matrix of the hatchback have had a comprehensive update for the 2022 model year.
Volkswagen also released a sketch previewing the design of the LED headlight cluster of the car. Now, it will get DRLs that run across the width of the vehicle upfront and an additional set of DRLs that make the headlights look larger than they actually are.
While the carmaker did say the 2022 Volkswagen Polo facelift will come with an optimised design and a revised structure, spy shots of the 2022 Volkswagen Polo facelift that surfaced online earlier this year have given us an even clearer picture.
Apart from the new lighting units at the front, the hatchback will also come with a slimmer grille, a new bumper with a larger air dam and redesigned fog lamp housing. Similarly, the rear lights would be redesigned and there will also be a new bumper at the back.
What’s more, Volkswagen has hinted at new technologies that would likely be introduced in the car as well. The central touchscreen might grow in size, and the car could get more driver aids this time around.
When the 2022 Volkswagen Polo facelift gets unveiled, more details will be revealed, including the engines that will power the very popular hatchback.
