2022 Volkswagen Polo facelift revealed with subtle styling changes and new tech on offer. The hatch gets new LED headlights and tail lights. In the range topping variants, the new Polo gets Matrix LED tech. It also comes with revised bumpers with this mid-life refresh.
While the interior gets no major visual changes, there are new features on offer. It comes with larger 10.25-inch digital cluster and 9.2-inch infotainment system. While the lane guidance system is standard across all the trims, there is an optional adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance pack on offer.
It comes with 5 trim levels including the entry-level Polo, Life, Style, R-Line and the range topping GTI.
The 2022 Volkswagen Polo facelift continues with the same engine options including 1.0-litre turbo petrol engines and even CNG powered variants for some markets in the Europe.
The big question is, will this Polo be launched in India? Yes, the German carmaker is planning to introduce a new generation Polo in India but it won’t be exactly the same model as this.
The Indian market will get a tweaked Polo measuring sub 4-metres in length and will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. Currently, Volkswagen India is focussing on enhancing their SUV lineup. The new Polo is likely to hit the market by 2023.
It has been over a decade since the current generation Polo is on sale. The next gen model will be relatively expensive but VW is expected to heavily localise it to keep the price competitive.
