The teaser video of the 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid is a rather short one
Toyota has released the teaser video of the 2022 Camry Hybrid which is set to be introduced into the Indian market soon.
The 2022 Camry Hybrid features a revised front end housing a new grille and bumper, while the premium sedan also has new wheels and restyled stop lamps, among other things.
This self-charging hybrid will come with full-LED lights, sunroof, powered and auto folding ORVMs, 3-zone auto air-con, 8-way electrically adjustable front seats with lumbar support, power adjustable rear seats and smart entry and push start.
Further, the premium sedan will come with a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, paddle shifters, electrochromic IRVM, sun shades, drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sport -, head up display, MID, and a wireless charger.
Power comes from a 2487cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine making 178 PS at 5700 RPM and 221 Nm of torque between 3600 and 5200 RPM. The motor can run on E20 and is paired with a 65 kW (88 PS) electric motor putting out 202 torques.
The total output of the power unit is 115 kW or 211 PS. The transmission is a E-CVT unit, while the suspension componentry comprises a Macpherson Strut up front, and double wishbone at the rear.
Riding on 18-inch wheels with 235/45-section rubber, the car has disc brakes all-round and a whole host of passive and driver-assistance safety systems.
As mentioned above, since the 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid teaser video has been released, it should be launched soon and will likely cost more than the current model which comes in at Rs. 41.20 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The car will rival the Skoda Superb, its only foe in the premium sedan segment. But the Superb is not offered with a hybrid powertrain in India as of now.
