The Veloz grade of the 2022 Toyota Avanza was seen undisguised ahead of launch
Meet the 2022 Toyota Avanza, to be precise, the Veloz grade of the upcoming third-generation MPV, that has been spotted at a dealership in Indonesia.
Set to replace the current model that has been on sale in the Southeast Asian country for a decade now, the people carrier is expected to be introduced soon in the island nation.
When one looks at the car head-on it would be nigh on impossible to say that this is an MPV, for it has the ‘face’ of an SUV, inspired by the RAV4 and somewhat by the Corolla Cross.
Sleek LED headlights, a large grille that is blanked for the most part, an air intake just above the front skid plate, all aid in giving the car an aggressive look mainly set in place by the way the bonnet and bumper are shaped.
It is along the sides that the car’s true nature comes to its own, although the choice of wheels is questionable. At the back though, there is a large tailgate, aggressive bumper and full-width tail lights.
Toyota has also made sure to use a good amount of chrome on the outside of the new Veloz based on the 2022 Toyota Avanza. The latter will come with subtler styling.
The interior of the 2022 Toyota Avanza is completely new and more modern than the current model’s cabin. It has a dual tone dash and seats, a large central touchscreen, metallic trim on the dash and centre console, and a multifunctional steering wheel.
At the back there is a roof-mounted entertainment screen and a split bench seat, while the car also has an electronic parking brake and lots of spaces for stowage. What’s more, this model also seems to be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense,
Likely based on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA), as a result of which the new Avanza will be front-wheel drive, it should be powered by petrol and petrol-hybrid engines.
