2022 Suzuki S-Cross Spied, Design Revealed In Full

The upper portion of the front fascia reminds one of the Maruti XL6

The 2022 Suzuki S-Cross has been spied about a week before its global debut

The new generation (model year 2022) Suzuki S-Cross has been spied well ahead of its world debut set to take place on the 25th day of the month.

On Friday (12th November 2021), we came across an official teaser video of the new S-Cross, released by the Japanese firm’s UK arm, and now, we have these spy shots which have supposedly been taken in Hungary.

The silhouette of the new Suzuki S-Cross somewhat resembles one of the Corolla Cross. The shape of the window area, the wheel arches and especially the rear profile are rather similar.

Suzuki continues with its neutral design language

That said, the S-Cross does have a more muted design, with a front profile that seems to have been very much inspired by the Maruti XL6.

A hexagonal-esque radiator grille has chrome slats and the manufacturer’s emblem and is flanked by the headlights. While below, the lower air intake sits between the fog lamps and above the front skid plate.

Along the sides, the crossover has a sloping roof line, rising beltline, large doors and plastic cladding for the wheel arches, while at the rear there is a small windscreen, a roof spoiler, clear lens tail lamps, a shapely tail gate and a neat bumper with the obligatory skid plate.

The crossover should continue to do well in the global arena

This is yet another example of petrol heads digging deep and bringing a new model to the light before its official unveiling happens. However, none of the images of the recently spied 2022 Suzuki S-Cross showed the car’s interior.

The car is likely to be powered by an updated 1.4-litre turbo-petrol mild-hybrid power unit in overseas markets. Both manual and automatic gearbox options should be available along with Suzuki’s AllGrip 4-wheel drive system.

It is yet unknown whether Maruti will replace the current S-Cross with this all-new model here. Since both Maruti and Toyota are working on a circa 4.3-metre SUV for India, that chances of the new global S-Cross coming here are slim. But, we’ll keep our fingers crossed.
