The assembly of the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq has started at the Aurangabad facility in Maharashtra
Skoda Auto has announced that the assembly of the 2022 Kodiaq has begun today in India. The facelifted version of the Czech brand’s first-ever global SUV will soon be available here.
Built on the MQB platform, the refreshed Kodiaq features a plethora of design and aerodynamic improvements on the outside and in the cabin, says Skoda.
Revealed back in April, the premium SUV features a restyled bonnet and radiator grille, slimmer LED headlights, newer front bumper, smaller rear windscreen, new rear spoiler and sharp-looking tail lamps.
The carmaker is expected to offer the car in India with LED matrix headlights. The size of the alloy wheels that the model designated for the Indian market will run on is unknown, but globally, the car wears alloys ranging from 17 to 20 inches.
Inside, the 2022 Kodiaq will feature premium upholstery for seats, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen (up to 9.2 inches in size), smartphone connectivity, ambient lighting, and more.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine tuned to put out 190 PS and teamed to a 7-speed DSG. The 2022 Kodiaq will come with all-wheel-drive as well.
Apart from announcing the commencement of the 2022 Kodiaq assembly, Skoda has also notified that prospective customers can register their interest for the car either at its dealerships or through its website.
