The 2022 Skoda Karoq comes with 3 petrol and 1 diesel engine (in 2 states of tune) options
The model year 2022 Karoq has been unveiled by Skoda Auto. The brand’s best-selling SUV (globally) comes with refreshed looks and new technologies now.
Up front, the 2022 Skoda Karoq features a new ‘face’ with a wider radiator grille, new and narrower LED headlights and a new bumper with a wide air intake and active vents by the front wheels.
At the back, the taillights are also slimmer to look at, while there is an updated bumper and a new roof spoiler which helps improve the SUV’s aerodynamics in conjunction with other modifications.
Even the wheels have been redesigned to reduce drag (they can also be fitted with covers to further improve airflow) to make the 2022 Karoq one of the most aerodynamic cars in its segment.
Globally, the car will, from now on, be available in a total of 9 colours, 2 of which – Graphite Grey and Phoenix Orange – are completely new for the Karoq.
Inside, the refreshed Karoq, says Skoda, uses more environmentally friendly materials including the Eco fabric upholstery (optional).
As for features, the SUV comes with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster as standard, 3 different infotainment touchscreens (8 to 9.2 inches), connectivity functions, Laura digital assistant, among several others.
Skoda also offers optional equipment with the SUV including a larger 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit and electrically operated passenger seat with memory.
Do note that the Karoq gets a sporty range-topper, called the Sportline that comes with plentiful blacked exterior parts like the radiator grille, roof rails, mirror caps, etc and sportier alloy wheels of up to 20 inches.
Similarly, on the inside, the Karoq Sportline has a 3-spoke sports steering wheel, sports seats (with integrated head restraints) upholstered in ThermoFlux material and other unique details.
There are as many as 4 engine options that the 2022 Skoda Karoq comes with. Three of them are turbo-petrol motors with a capacity of 1.0 (109 BHP), 1.5 (147.5 BHP, has cylinder deactivation too) and 2.0 litres (188 BHP, exclusive to the Sportline).
Whereas, there are 2 diesel versions that use the same 2.0-litre TDI engine delivering 114 BHP and 147.5 BHP of maximum power.
The transmission options include a range of manual gearboxes and dual-clutch automatics. All-wheel drive is also available with the car.
Like many modern cars, the 2022 Skoda Karoq also comes with a wealth of safety features and driving assistants, while the Travel Assist package aims at improving convenience on long journeys.
Since the pre-facelift Karoq was sold in India as a CBU, the refreshed model could well be put on sale here in 2022. But, only an official statement from Skoda will confirm that.
