According to the new plan of Skoda India, 2022 will be an exciting year for the brand
Skoda Auto India has announced that it has plans to introduce 6 models in 2022 with the aim of increasing its sales threefold over last year.
The Czech car manufacturer sold 23,858 units in calendar year 2021 as opposed to 10,387 cars retailed in 2020. This is a year-on-year growth of 130 percent.
In 2022, Skoda aims to triple its 2021 sales volume and sell over 70,000 cars. The brand wants to be able to retail 1 lakh cars in India by 2025.
On 10th January, 2022, Skoda will launch the refreshed Kodiaq premium SUV, while in March, the brand will launch the Slavia C-segment sedan.
Skoda says the Kushaq compact SUV, Octavia D-segment sedan and Superb premium sedan will be given enhancements over the course of the year.
In the case of the Kushaq, Skoda is expected to introduce the Monte Carlo and Laurin & Klement variants of the car to keep its sales going strong this year as its rival and segment leader the Hyundai Creta is set to receive a facelift.
The sixth car that Skoda has planned for India this year could well be the Octavia RS. This time around, the performance model of the D-segment sedan is likely to be brought to India as a completely built-up unit (CBU).
Further, according to its 2022 plan, Skoda India will activate the ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ brand across all of its outlets and expand its network from 175 touchpoints to 225.
The firm also promises that efforts will be made to improve its service quality, introduce new aftersales programmes and offer greater transparency.
