2022 Mercedes-Maybach S680 Is The Epitome Of German Luxury

Mercedes-Maybach has revealed the 2022 model year S680, the top-of-the-line V12 limousine with elegant exterior and opulent interior.

To look at, the 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S680 and the S580 (revealed in November last year) are very similar and a commoner would only be able to differentiate them through their badges.

But, if a person takes a peek under the bonnet of the S680 and any doubts with regard to the model’s position in the Mercedes-Maybach hierarchy will be laid to rest.

Instead of the S580’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, the S680 has a hand-built twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 motor putting out 621 HP and, a planet twisting 1001 torques.

Connected to a 9-speed automatic gearbox which sends its power to all 4 wheels, the engine enables the luxury car to do the 0-100 km/hr dash in 4.4 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 209 km/hr.

Although it is a car meant for owners to sit in the back, Mercedes-Maybach could not resist but make it fun to ride (as possible) as well. The S680 has been given a rear-axle steering and sends 69 percent of its engine’s torque to the rear wheels.

Since it is the top-spec Mercedes-Maybach, the S680 comes with all the features found in the V8 model including the full suite of digital displays with MBUX system. Customers can also order silver-plated champagne flutes and a refrigerated compartment for storing the drink.

Of course, the tasteful 2-tone paint options will remain and so will the sophisticated interior draped in leather with wood and metal trim pieces to boot.

In Germany, the 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S680 is already available to order and costs from €164,565.10 (Rs. 1.46 crore).
