The asking price of the more powerful 2022 Mercedes E63 S is naturally higher than the E53 at Rs. 1.70 crore
Mercedes has launched the AMG E53 4Matic+ today in India with a price tag of Rs. 1.02 crore (ex-showroom). The German brand also introduced the 2022 E63 S 4Matic+ here at Rs. 1.70 crore (ex-showroom).
Mercedes-AMG E53 4Matic+ –
The second ‘AMG 53 series’ product to be introduced in India, the E53 AMG features the latest E-Class design language. The performance sedan comes with the AMG-specific radiator grille, LED headlights and completely redesigned front section.
Similarly, there are restyled split tail lamps which are linked by a chrome trim strip, and the rear apron has been reshaped too, and, the car rides on 19-inch 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside, it gets AMG seats in nappa leather, an AMG Performance steering wheel, the Widescreen Cockpit with MBUX infotainment system, ambient lighting, Mercedes me connect, among other features.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 that puts out 435 HP and 520 Nm of torque. The engine is assisted by a 48 V electric system that offers an additional 22 HP and 250 Nm of torque.
A 9-speed automatic transmission sends the engine’s power to all the wheels and the car can do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 4.5 seconds. There are 5 drive modes on offer as standard with the car that rides on AMG Ride Control+ suspension.
Mercedes-AMG E63 4Matic+ –
For the 2022 model year, the AMG E63 S comes with a more striking design (that makes it look more like a muscle car) and improved aerodynamics. It can be easily identified by the large radiator grille which feeds air to cool the massive engine.
As standard the E63 S is shod in 20-inch 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels that come in either matt black or high-gloss tantalum grey, while on the inside, it features model-specific upgrades like mode toggles on the steering wheel.
Powering the performance sedan is a 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8 that makes 612 HP and 850 Nm of torque. The motor features cylinder deactivation and is mated to a 9-speed transmission.
Sporting 4-wheel drive, the car can do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 3.4 seconds and with the Driver’s Package, can hit 300 km/hr tops. It also gets performance brakes (ceramic brakes are optional) and a ‘Drift’ mode (along with 5 other modes).
Mercedes also has 2-year service packages on offer for both cars. The service pack for the E53 costs Rs. 1.19 lakhs and for the E63 S costs Rs. 1.35 lakhs.
