2022 Maruti Suzuki Celerio is all set for its launch next month.
The much awaited 2022 Maruti Suzuki Celerio is all set to hit the showrooms soon as the launch is scheduled to happen on 10th November.
The new generation hatchback will be based on Maruti’s Heartect platform. It will have bigger dimensions to carve out more space inside the cabin.
MotorBeamer Aadith has spotted this undisguised Celerio which looks like the final deal ready to take the stage at the dealerships with the Suzuki logo and the final badging.
In terms of styling, the new Celerio is very neutral and typical Maruti. Has some hints of the Alto in the front profile, specially the headlights. The rear looks inspired by the Baleno.
To keep the price in check, there are some bits which look very basic and from the 90s such as the blinker unit on the front fenders, they should have at least integrated it on the ORVMs. Then there are these traditional flap-type door handles (outgoing Celerio has modern pull-type ones) with a weird looking keyhole on the driver’s door.
The new Celerio will get a revised interior including new instrument cluster, steering wheel, dashboard design and new seats. Expect some new features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It will continue to be powered by the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 68 PS of power and 90 Nm of torque. Maruti is expected to offer both 5-speed MT and AMT options with the new Celerio.
The new generation Celerio will compete with the likes of Hyundai Santro, Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago, Datsun redi-GO and the likes.
