2022 Mahindra Scorpio Spotted, Testing To Go Down To The Wire?

The SUV looks larger than the XUV700 from these pictures

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio has been spotted again!

Looks like Mahindra cannot avoid the 2022 Scorpio from being spotted by inquisitive petrol heads even after an image of the SUV (although it was a blurry one taken during its TVC shoot) got leaked early last month.

The car has been spied recently in Chennai yet again and at an airport (which one is not clear for now) as well. If anything, the spy shots suggest that the utility vehicle major is almost done with adding the finishing touches to the SUV.

The cabin will have a dual tone theme

The new generation Scorpio will come with an all-new exterior design. Up front the car has a new radiator grille, lights (should be LEDs in top variants) and bumper.

Along the sides, the 3-row SUV will have flared wheel arches, large wheels and a sizeable greenhouse, while at the back, the recently spotted 2022 Scorpio comes with a large side-hinged tailgate and a roof spoiler.

Having grown in size, the new generation Scorpio will offer more room inside for passengers and from the spy shots, it is evident that the SUV will have plentiful more features than before.

The SUV will sport a brand-new design language

It will come with a multifunctional steering wheel, a 9-inch touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, connected car features, 360-degree camera, sunroof, 2-zone climate control, up to 6 airbags, and several other goodies.

Mahindra is set to sell the car in 2 forms – petrol and diesel. The petrol version will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit and the oil burner will be a 2.2-litre turbocharged mill.

It is expected to score really well in the Global NCAP safety assessment

The engines can be paired to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Also, top variants of the new Scorpio will come with a shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive system.

Expect the debut of the SUV to take place in 3 months from now, while its market launch will take place a month later. It will rival several 3-row cars in the Rs. 12-20 lakhs (ex-showroom) price bracket.

The new Scorpio should carry the mantle of is predecessor rather well
