2022 Mahindra Scorpio Getaway spotted testing undisguised in India
The MY 2022 Mahindra Scorpio Getaway has been caught testing without any camouflage by MotorBeamer Tushar Gawali. You might get excited looking at these pictures but wait, notice the left-hand drive layout of this pickup truck.
The Indian UV maker is currently testing the new model for the export markets. It is already on sale in a lot of countries including Qatar where it is christened as Mahindra Pik Up. However, this is the facelifted model that meets the new emission norms.
It is powered by the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 140 BHP and 320 Nm torque. It is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 variants. This particular test mule carries a 4×4 badging and is an automatic variant headed to Guatemala.
While the front profile gets the updated grille, new bumper design and updated alloys, the rear seems to be the same carrying the tail light design of the very first generation model.
Yes, Mahindra has been testing the Scorpio Getaway for the domestic market as well with the updated BS6 engine but the timeline is yet to be revealed. Since the carmaker is struggling with the chip shortage issue having limited production, we believe they have pushed the launch a few months away.
