The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio Getaway has been spied in production-ready form
The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio Getaway has been spied undisguised at a dealership in Mumbai prior to its launch which is set to happen soon.
Spotted by MotorBeamer Kamish Patel, both units of the pickup truck that were spotted were 4-wheel drive models. But one had alloy wheels, while the other was fitted with steelies.
When looked head-on, the 2022 Scorpio Getaway and the regular Scorpio SUV look the same. However, along the sides, the double cab pickup does look markedly different.
At the back though, the recently spied 2022 Scorpio Getaway had the first-generation Scorpio’s tail lamps, a short tailgate and a bumper also housing a footboard.
The pickup truck will be powered by a 2.2-litre turbodiesel motor which should make a maximum of 140 BHP and 320 Nm of torque. As stated before, it will be available with 4-wheel drive, in addition to the rear-wheel drive version.
Apart from selling the vehicle in India, Mahindra will continue to export the Scorpio Getaway. How well will the model do well in a segment that has moved more premium over time? Only time will tell.
