The production-ready 2022 model year KTM RC 390 has been spied undisguised which indicates that the supersport bike could be officially unveiled soon.
Spy shots of the new generation RC 390 have been doing rounds on the internet for a couple of months now, but this might well be the first time that the motorcycle has been seen in a factory colour scheme.
The 2022 KTM RC 390 spied undisguised looks top-heavy, and most of the visual mass is toward the front.
Thanks to the bright paint job, the design of the fairing, and the numerous cuts it has, can be see clearly and, apart from the area surrounding the headlight (which has already been spied), the styling of the fairing is rather neat and very sporty.
New handlebars of the motorcycle seem a bit raised, which could mean that the seating posture will not be as committed as the model that was on sale until recently.
One would potentially be able to cover more distance on the 2022 RC 390 in comparison to its predecessor due to the larger fuel tank, but, rider and passenger comfort do not (based on the picture) seem to be the bike’s strong point.
Sporting slim alloy wheels and a side-mounted exhaust, the 2022 RC 390 will come with slightly larger discs for added braking power. It will also come with the 2021 Duke 390’s instrument cluster.
Powering the motorcycle would be the same tried and tested 373cc single cylinder engine which makes 43 HP and 37 Nm of torque on the Duke 390.
Expect KTM to launch the motorcycle later this year in India with a slight uptick in the asking price and following that, the Austrian brand is expected to launch the new generation RC 125 and RC 200 as well.
