KTM has launched the 2022 iteration of its 390 Adventure at a price tag of Rs. 3,34,895/- (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Bookings have commenced and the bike can also be bought using easy finance option with EMIs starting from Rs. 6999/-.
This year, though the price has increased by around Rs. 5000/-, the updates are not just limited to colours but also to the other key areas.
For starters, the popular adventure bike now gets two riding modes – Street and Off-road linked to its Motorcycle Traction control (MTC). KTM says selecting Off-road mode will give the bike a degree of rear-wheel slip to enable easier maneuver in loose or wet terrain.
Also, the mode will remain activated even in the event of a brief stall or fall helping the riders to consistently push the bike to the extreme in severe offroad conditions.
For 2022, KTM has also upgraded the 390 Adventure’s wheels. They now sport 5 spoke pairs in place of 6 given earlier. KTM says, the new cast wheels are robust and have great stiffness and resistance to breakages.
Thirdly, the bike now comes in 2 shades – KTM Factory Racing Blue and Galvano Black with updated graphics.
Some of the key highlights of the 390 Adventure include lean-angle sensitive ABS, removable steel trellis subframe (fitted with just 4 screws), WP APEX USD forks and adjustable rear monoshock, BYBRE brakes (320mm at front and 280 mm at rear with dual-channel ABS), and 14.5-litre fuel tank with 400 km range.
Power comes from the same 373 cc 4-valve DOHC unit that puts out 43.5 PS and 37 Nm. KTM further claimed that the chassis has also been updated with Dakar rally-proven architecture and settings.
With this launch, KTM has also started its Pro-XP programme that helps KTM Adventure owners with specially curated tours, trails, and academics led by KTM experts. While enjoying these experiences, KTM says, participants can interact with fellow owners and experts thereby improving their skills in off-roading.
