The 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 adopts the Versys 1000’s front end
At the 2021 EICMA motor show, Kawasaki has showcased a range of products, including the updated H2 SX SE and the Versys 650.
2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 –
The model year 2022 (MY22) Kawasaki Versys 650 has been given a new ‘face’ with twin LED headlamps and a new 4-way adjustable flyscreen, while there is also a sharper fairing.
Also new for the 2022 Versys 650 are the colours (Candy Lime Green is joined by Metallic Spark Black), graphics and the 4.3-inch TFT display which comes with smartphone connectivity.
While mechanically the middleweight tourer remains the same as before, having a 649cc parallel twin motor making 66 PS and 61 Nm, it does come with switchable traction control (that has 2 settings) now.
Expect the 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 to be launched within the first quarter of 2021 in India with a revised asking price. The 2021 Versys 650 currently costs Rs. 7.15 lakhs (ex-showroom).
2022 Kawasaki H2 SX SE –
The refreshed MY22 H2 SX SE from the Japanese brand has been given a styling refresh, among other things.
It is clear that the touring machine(!) has a revised front fairing, new LED headlamp, aero-optimised mirrors and comfier seats, along with a 6.5-inch TFT instrument display with smartphone connectivity.
Other things that are new on the bike include the Bosch 10.3ME IMU, Showa electronic suspension (updated), a Brembo front brake master cylinder, vehicle hold assist, keyless go, TPMS and more.
But, the biggest difference between the 2021 and 2022 H2 SX SE is the inclusion of radar-based Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS) that brings adaptive cruise control (3 settings), forward collision warning (3 settings) and blind spot detection.
While the supercharged 999cc 4-cylinder motor continues to produce 200 HP, it has also been given a revised cam timing, a new exhaust system, among other things, for improved refinement.
Expect the model to make it to India sometime next year. Only limited units of the motorcycle, which will be sold with a rather hefty price tag, should be made available here though.
