Hyundai Begins Venue Facelift’s Road Tests In India

The compact SUV will witness major exterior design changes for this year

The 2022 Hyundai Venue was spied in the southern State of Tamil Nadu

The Hyundai Venue facelift, expected to be launched within 2022, has been spied for the first time in India, specifically near the carmaker’s plant in Chennai.

Until now, the heavily revised compact SUV has been spotted in the carmaker’s home country, where it was seen with varying levels of camouflaging over a period of time.

The recently spied 2022 Hyundai Venue for India had lots more covers across its exterior, leaving only part of the front fenders and the section of the compact SUV above the waistline visible.

Riding on a new set of alloy wheels which was also fitted to models seen in South Korea, the facelifted Venue will come with a brand-new face that will resemble the Alcazar 3-row SUV.

The Venue has been a good performer in the fiercely competitive segment

The car’s split front lights will stay the same, as will its side profile, but the bumpers (front and back) will be all-new. The 2022 Venue will also come with a new boot lid and fresh split LED tail lamps.

Inside, the car should feature some changes too. To what extent Hyundai has revised the cabin of the car cannot be ascertained for now as there are no images of the facelifted vehicle’s cabin available.

Mechanically, the Venue is not expected to come with any surprises. The current 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (120 PS and 172 Nm), 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (83 PS and 114 Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel (100 PS and 240 Nm) engine options and several gearbox choices should stay the same.

To be launched later this year, the compact SUV will continue to rival the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300 and the like.
