A test mule of the next-generation Honda HR-V that is expected to debut in 2022 has been spied in Europe.
Since the current model, which did not come to India, has been around for quite a while, it is about time it gets replaced.
The upcoming HR-V is of significance to Honda India, for it will likely ensure the carmaker’s survival in the market (provided it is launched by 2022) where anything designed like an SUV sells.
Honda has heavily camouflaged the development mule to hide details, but we can still see that the front fascia of the car is similar to that of the recently unveiled Civic prototype.
Now, the headlights are flatter and have a slim strip of DRL integrated into them. The grille is lower, wider and features horizontal slats, while the lower air dam with mesh pattern has an element that runs from it to either side.
Along the sides, it appears that the model has grown a bit, while the bodywork is simple. The test mule runs on alloy wheels, has roof rails, side mirrors mounted to the front doors and the rear door handle is located near the rear windows.
Going to the back, the raked rear windscreen with roof spoiler and wiper can be seen along with the big heavily creased tailgate the extends to bumper, while the LED tail lights are visible as well.
For now, the car has got a coupe-crossover-esque appearance and has decent space between the tyres and wheel arches. So, handling our terribly bad roads should not be a problem.
Not much else is known about the car, save for the fact that when it gets launched in India, it is likely to get the latest features which customers crave for these days.
