Honda will once again launch the CB300R in India as a 2022 model

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is preparing to launch the 2022 CB300R on 4th December at the 2021 edition of the India Bike Week (IBW).

Discontinued in April last year, the 300cc “Neo Sports Cafe” motorcycle is finally being updated to meet India’s latest emissions regulation.

Apart from new paint schemes, the BS6 CB300R is likely to look exactly like the BS4 version which was powered by a 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivering 31.4 HP and 27.5 Nm of torque.

The power and torque figures produced by the updated engine are expected to be more or less the same as earlier even while complying with the more stringent BS6 norms.

Honda’s BigWing dealers are going to have yet another motorcycle to retail

Whether Honda will manufacture the motorcycle locally or if it will continue through the completely knocked down (CKD) route like it did with the BS4 CB300R is unknown.

Manufacturing the bike locally would enable Honda to price it well, which would be appreciated by buyers staring at the bloated prices of motorcycles over the past year. For context, the BS4 CB300R cost Rs. 2.41 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Apart from the 2022 Honda CB300R launch, another product introduction will take place at the IBW 2021 and that will be the H’ness CB350 Anniversary Edition.

Mechanically, the Anniversary Edition of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 rival should be identical to the regular version, but it should come with a special paint scheme and possibly a bit more parts and features as well.
