2022 Honda Activa and Dio should be launched around Diwali
A type approval document shows that Honda has homologated 2 variants of model year 2022 (MY22) Activa and 4 variants of MY22 Dio, recently.
Dated 27th August, the document only has information about the 110cc version of India’s most popular scooter. The 2 variants of the 2022 Honda Activa that have been homologated are 6G and 6G LED.
Honda offers full-LED lighting in the DLX (Deluxe) variant of the Activa 6G, the STD misses out on the LED headlamp, already. Thus, the MY22 Activa will be no different.
On the other hand, 4 variants of the MY22 Dio that have received certification are as follows – Dio with Com-Cast Wheel, Dio with composite wheels and digital speedometer, Dio with Com-Cast wheel and 3D emblem and Dio with digital speedometer and 3D emblem.
The STD and DLX variants of the MY21 Dio come with, respectively, black- and gold-coloured steelies, while only the Repsol Edition features alloy wheels. Based on the government document, it is clear that the Dio is set to be equipped with alloys as standard.
At present the Dio’s STD version has halogen headlamp and analogue instrument cluster, while the DLX variant comes with LED headlamp, digital instruments and a 3-step Eco indicator.
Both scooters have not underwent any mechanical changes and the MY22 Honda Activa and Dio should be introduced around Diwali this year.
