2022 GMC Hummer EV Revealed In Top-Spec Edition 1 Form
To be put into production in late 2021, the "supertruck" will be the firm's first fully electric vehicle.
GMC has revealed the Hummer EV, its first fully electric vehicle, in Edition 1 specification that the car will debut with.
Design of the car follows the cues of the original Hummer, but it has been interpreted for modern times. Despite it being an EV, it is a rugged-looking thing with huge proportions.
There are nice features such as the front lighting feature that has the Hummer name spelled out and numerous takes like that all over the car.
Insides of the car is said to be made of premium materials and there are features like 13.4-inch infotainment screen, 12.3-inch driver display. Also, the tailgate has six functional positions, while the rear drop glass window and tonneau cover can be electrically operated.
The Hummer EV will get its energy from General Motors’ all-new Ultium batteries and power from Ultium Drive, GM’s proprietary EV drive units. Estimated power figure generated by three motors of the e4WD system is 1000 HP and torque is 15,592 Nm.
It can to the 0-100 km/hr run in 3 seconds (approx) and has an estimated range of over 563 km on a full charge. Should one want to increase the range fast, they would like the fact that the EV has 350 kW DC fast charging capability.
Moreover, there is 4-wheel-steer featuring CrabWalk, adaptive air suspension, underbody armour, UltraVision that includes new front and rear underbody cameras with live “virtual spotter” (up to 18 camera angles available) features and off-road widgets.
Debuting exclusively in Edition 1 trim package, off-road EV will also feature a test version of Super Cruise with automatic lane changing feature, Drive Mode Control (includes Terrain Mode) and Adaptive Ride Control.
Open-air driving is also possible since the transparent “Sky Panels” are removable and can be stowed in the “frunk” storage compartment.
Production of the EV begins in late 2021 at GM’s Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center and the car will go on sale in 2022.
