2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 Launch On 25th April, What’s New?

The clutch is now lighter by 1.5 kg

Ducati is said to launch the 2022 Multistrada V2, the Multistrada 950 replacement, on Monday

The 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 launch is expected to happen on 25th April thereby adding another great machine to the flourishing premium adventure tourer segment in the country. Pitted as a replacement for the earlier Multistrada 950, the new V2 competes directly against the BMW F 900 XR and the Triumph Tiger 900.

Powered by the updated 937 cc Testastretta engine, the adventure bike from Ducati has got changes to the rider ergonomics and some styling revisions as well. The seat height is now down by 10 mm to 830 mm with the seats now sculpted to become more flatter and narrower with inseam arch reduced by 40 mm. Also, the footpegs are placed down by 10 mm.

The bike is now 5 kg lighter and weights 199 kg dry with major reduction done from new engine bits and V4 derived rear view mirrors and rims.

The front trellis frame and 2 aluminium side frames with the double-sided aluminium swingarm are a direct lift from the older bike but a new fully adjustable 48 mm Sachs suspension setup will make its way into the V2. The braking duties are carried out by dual 320 mm Brembo discs with monobloc callipers at the front and 265 mm single disc at the rear.

The seat height can be reduced to as low as 790 mm

Though the engine is the same unit seen on the older bike, it now features lighter clutch and gearbox. The L-twin motor puts out 111 HP at 9000 RPM and 96 Nm at 7750 RPM. The clutch is 1.5 kg lighter.

The features on offer include Bosch 6-axis cornering ABS, hill hold control, traction control, and 4 riding modes – Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro. The instrument console features an LCD screen with Ducati Multimedia System. The optional accessories include 57-litre side panniers, 48-litre top box, and a center stand.

The panniers can be had as an optional package

There is also a Ducati Performance Catalogue for the bike that includes light spoked wheels, a low seat, and a lowered suspension kit which will further reduce the seat height to 790 mm.
