The 2022 BMW M4 Competition has been launched with a mammoth asking price
BMW has launched the 2022 M4 Competition in India at a price of Rs. 1,43,90,000/- (ex-showroom). The performance coupe sits below the M5 Competition in the brand’s Indian portfolio.
Under the bonnet, BMW has fitted a 2993cc, in-line 6-cylinder turbo-petrol motor that is tuned to deliver a maximum of 503 BHP at 6250 RPM and 650 Nm of peak torque between 2750 and 5500 RPM.
The car has a 8-speed automatic transmission teamed to an all-wheel drive system (rear-wheel drive mode present) with active differential. It can complete the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 3.5 seconds.
Being an ‘M’ car, the 2022 M4 Competition also comes with multiple drive modes, adaptive suspension that adjusts based on the mode selected and M compound brakes.
The German marque says it has worked on the chassis to provide the M4 high torsional rigidity all the while maintaining the agility and precision of the performance coupe intact.
Despite being a fast vehicle, the 2022 M4 Competition is still a street car that can be driven around a circuit. Thus, it comes with plentiful features to keep its occupants entertained and comfortable.
Inside, one would find electrically adjustable front seats with heating, Merino leather upholstery, anthracite headliner, multifunctional leather steering wheel, auto 3-zone air-con, auto-dimming IRVM, among other features.
In terms of goodies, for the price, 2022 BMW M4 Competition comes kitted with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen, head-up display, ambient lighting, parking and reversing assistant, wireless device charger, wireless smartphone integration, auto start-stop, and more.
On the outside, the car has the BMW Individual Shadow Line pack, carbon roof, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged wheels, BMW Laser Lights, LED tail lamps and electrically foldable ORVMs with auto anti-glare, heating and memory functions.
Available in colours such as Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Portimao Blue, Sao Paulo Yellow, Skyscraper Grey and Toronto Red, the performance coupe can also be equipped with plentiful optional extras including a carbon exterior pack.
