The 2022 Benelli Leoncino 800 Trail comes with a strengthened chassis
Benelli has revealed the 2022 Leoncino 800 Trail and the Chinese-owned bike manufacturer has given its middleweight scrambler a few upgrades in a bid to make it a better package overall.
The Trail version of the Leoncino 800 (not sold in India) comes with a flat-track inspired styling, featuring wire-spoked wheels, high-set dual exhaust system, a different headlamp cowl and a side plate.
For 2022, Benelli Leoncino 800 gets a strengthened steel trellis frame, and its suspension system is claimed to have been improved. The middleweight motorcycle features 50 mm inverted front forks (148 mm travel) and a rear monoshock (140 mm travel).
Power comes from a 754cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder motor that delivers a maximum of 76.2 HP and 67 Nm of peak torque. The engine is teamed to a 6-speed gearbox and sports a slipper clutch.
The 19-inch front wheel is shod with a 120/70-section dual-purpose tyre, while the 17-inch rear rim is wrapped with 170/60-section rubber. In addition, the Leoncino 800 comes with strong brakes too.
Dual 320 mm brake discs up front are clamped by radially mounted 4-piston calipers, while a single 260 mm disc in the back gets a 2-piston caliper. Of course, there is dual channel ABS assist as well.
To be available in 3 colour choices – Brown, Green and Grey – the motorcycle has been introduced in Italy where it costs €8590 (Rs. 7.12 lakhs). It is unclear whether the Italian marque will launch the bike or the regular Leoncino 800 in India in the future.
