Local assembly of the 2022 Audi Q5 has begun a month before the car’s planned launch
Audi India has announced that it has commenced assembly of 2022 Q5 at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) plant at Aurangabad, in Maharashtra.
To be launched in November, the facelifted luxury SUV, which has been caught testing in India, will fill the void currently present between the Q2 and Q8 in the Audi India lineup.
When it gets reintroduced, the Q5 will come with new lights, revised bumpers, a larger grille, and minor changes on the inside where one can also find a digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and more tech, including Amazon Alexa assistant and connected car features.
A 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine putting out 245 PS and 370 Nm of torque teamed to a 7-speed DCT, will power the luxury SUV that will have quattro all-wheel-drive as well.
To rival the likes of BMW X3, Mercedes GLC, and Land Rover Discovery Sport, the 2022 Audi Q5 should cost about Rs. 55 lakhs (ex-showroom) and above.
