2022 Audi A8 Teased Ahead Of Launch [Video]

2022 Audi A8 Teaser
Bookings are stated to commence soon

The 2022 Audi A8 teaser reveals the luxury sedan’s new headlights and vertical slats on the grille up front

Ahead of launching the facelifted, 2022 version of its A8, Audi India has released a teaser video of the flagship luxury sedan. Bookings for the A8, which will most probably be introduced in the long-wheelbase version, is stated to commence soon.

Being the second launch of the German marque this year in the country after the Q7, the A8 will compete against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the BMW 7-Series while sitting alongside Audi’s existing A4 and A6.

The vertically stacked grille elements are a new addition

Updated internationally in November 2021, the A8 sports a new interior and exterior. The major change on the outside are the revised headlamps and the front grille. The headlights now feature new rhomboid-shaped units which bring about a new pattern of light throw.

Also, the horizontal slats on the grille have been replaced with vertical ones that look somewhat like a mesh when seen from a distance. The new set of wheels enhance the overall exterior looks as their extremely low profile rubber pronounces the alloy design well.

The wheel diameter ranges between 18 and 21 inches. The colour options expected are Metallic District Green, Firmament Blue, Manhattan Grey, Ultra Blue, Daytona Grey, Florette Silver, and Glacier White, the ones seen on the international model.

The A8 is expected to get a good load of chrome on the outside

On the inside, the A8 is expected to feature the sophisticated roomy cabin of the international model with lines running across the dashboard to render it a wider stance. But there’s no head-up display as per the trend but regular displays – 2 central ones and 1 for the instrument cluster.

Also, the car has voice operation (responding to ‘Hey Audi’), 4-zone deluxe automatic air-conditioning, new 10.1-inch screens at the rear, around 40 driver assistance systems and more.

The car is expected to be powered by the existing 3-litre petrol V6 that develops 340 HP and 500 Nm, coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission with Audi’s famed Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The seats will be upholstered in Valetta leather or Valcona leather
