The spied 2022 Aprilia SR 160 had camouflage wrapping too
The model year 2022 (MY22) Aprilia SR 160 has been spied out on public roads recently in Pune and it is set to feature a fully digital instrument cluster.
From the looks of it, the unit has been lifted straight off the firm’s SXR models (both the SXR 125 and 160 come with it). Until now, the SR 160 features a semi-digital instrument cluster only.
The LCD unit in the SXR 160 displays information like engine speed, average speed, average fuel consumption, engine temperature, ambient temperature, trip information and more.
Expected to be introduced soon, the MY22 SR 160 is likely to be equipped with the full digital instrument cluster as standard.
However, there is a possibility of Aprilia offering the display with a separate variant, a strategy it follows with the SR 125 range, where the base model gets an analogue cluster and a more expensive model (By Rs. 3242/-) features the current SR 160’s semi-digital unit.
The MY22 SR 125 could also get this display, but nothing can be said for sure until an official announcement regarding the same comes from Aprilia.
Moreover, the spied 2022 Aprilia SR 160 had camouflage wrapping, indicating that new paint schemes will be on offer as well. It also has a new grab handle, but should mechanically remain unchanged.
At present, the SR 160 costs between Rs. 1.06 lakh and Rs. 1.13 lakh (ex-showroom). The addition of the LCD unit could likely increase the cost of the scooter by up to Rs. 5000/-.
