The new colour option is called as Electric Teal by the Japanese manufacturer. Customers who opt for this colour option will get a bike that, unlike the previous colour choices, is quite vibrant.
New graphics also come as part of the change, along with orange wheels, the colour of which is not too dissimilar to the one KTM has been using on its products.
Other colour options the 2021 Yamaha R3 can be had with include Team Yamaha Blue and Matte Stealth Black. While the Electric Teal and Team Yamaha Blue colour models will be available from November onwards, the Black colour will be ready for orders come December.
Engine-wise there have been no changed. Thus, the 321cc, liquid-cooled, 2-cylinder mill continues to deliver 42 HP of top power and 28.8 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with multiplate wet clutch.
Top speed of the 170 kg (wet) motorcycle is 177 km/hr, while it can do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 5.5 seconds. USA-spec 2021 Yamaha R3 is claimed to deliver 56 miles per gallon, which equates to about 24 km/l.
No other changes have been made to the bike for the 2021 model year. However, as mentioned above, the price of the bike has increased for the USA market. It now costs $5299 (about Rs. 3.9 lakhs), some $300 (Rs. 22,000/-) more than the previous year model.
