Volkswagen has given the 2021 Polo GTI facelift loads more tech
Volkswagen has unveiled the 2021 Polo GTI facelift with an updated design, more features and automatic only powertrain.
Up front, the facelifted Polo GTI features new LED matrix headlights, a honeycomb radiator grille with LED daytime running lights that extend to the headlight cluster, while along the sides, it has 2-tone alloy wheels with red brake calipers.
At the back, the 2021 Volkswagen Polo GTI facelift comes with newly designed taillights, revised bumper, dual exhaust tips, while the signature GTI red accents can be seen throughout the vehicle.
Available in 5 colourways – Deep Black Pearl Effect, Smoke Grey Metallic, Kings Red Metallic, Pure White Uni, and Reef Blue Metallic – the hot hatch can also be had with a contrast black roof.
As standard, the 2021 Volkswagen Polo GTI facelift will come equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, while 18-inch jobbies can also be ordered.
Inside, apart from the GTI-specific upholstery, the hot hatch also features a 9.2-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro, an Online Connectivity Unit (OCU), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather sports steering wheel, and as an option a 300 W (6-speaker) Beats sound system.
Powering the hot hatch is a 2.0-litre TSI petrol motor that makes 204 HP and 320 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed DSG only (which sends power to the front wheels) and enables the car to do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 6.5 seconds.
The sportiest version of the sixth-generation Polo, says Volkswagen, has a sports chassis, upgraded brakes, and comes with semi-automated driving function called IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist as an option, along with other systems like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Assist.
