TVS has updated the official Star City+ web page with a teaser image of the 2021 model year version of the commuter motorcycle which is expected to be launched soon.
When the bike manufacturer launched the BS6-compliant version of the 110cc commuter motorcycle, it gained a LED headlamp and a USB power outlet, while the cycle parts remained as is.
Now, though, by revealing the 2021 TVS Star City+ teaser image the brand claims it has a surprise in store. What surprise might that be? we hear you ask. Well, the bike is set to gain a disc brake upfront.
Until now, customers can only have the model with drum brakes and although they provide decent stopping power, adding a disc brake would help matters very much.
No other changes are expected to be made to the 2-wheeler as the design stays the same. The same part-digital instrument cluster, dual tone seat and 5 step adjustable rear shock absorbers will all likely be carried over as is.
Similarly, the 109.7cc engine that is good for a 8.08 BHP and 8.7 Nm of torque and the 4-speed gearbox will stay the same.
TVS might introduce new colours while launching the disc brake-equipped Star City+, but we do not know that for sure at the moment.
Also, the asking price of the bike, which stands at Rs. 65,865/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), will also increase for the variant with the front disc brake.
