TVS has launched the 2021 Star City+ front disc variant at an asking price of Rs. 67,965/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The disc brake (dubbed “Roto Petal Disc Brake”) variant that was teased only a week ago is available only in Black and Red dual tone colour scheme as of now, unlike the drum brake variant that comes in 5 colour options.
No other changes have been made to the commuter motorcycle. Thus, it continues to sport the same graphics as the drum brake variant and also comes equipped with an LED headlamp and a USB power socket.
Other cycle parts such as the suspension, wheels and tyres, have all been carried over as well, for the 2021 TVS Star City+ disc variant price is only Rs. 2600/- more than the drum variant that costs Rs. 65,365/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The engine is a 109.7cc unit that produces a maximum of 8.08 BHP and 8.7 Nm peak torque. It comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The weight of the bike (116 kg drum variant) will have increased with the addition of the disc now.
However, the inclusion of a front disc will ensure that the bike has much better stopping power and the additional price that TVS asks for the front disc should well be worth it.
